Assaulted?
You can claim damages if you are assaulted. But frequently the assailant won’t be able to pay the damages.
Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority Scheme
If you are the victim of a criminal injury the most common method of seeking compensation is by a claim to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).
Awards are based upon a tariff and range from £1,000 to £500,000.
Time limits - act quickly
There is a time limit of 2 years for bringing a claim and there are strict rules regarding the immediate reporting of incidents to the police and fully co-operating with them in their enquiries. It is important to act quickly to protect your claim.
Dealing with such claims and finding your way around the Scheme can be complicated. We can provide expert assistance to help you to maximise your chances and the award. |
