Deafness Claims

Noise at work can cause hearing loss and tinnitus

Hearing loss and tinnitus (buzzing in the ears) due to noise exposure can be very distressing and can interfere significantly with the quality of life of the sufferer.

These conditions often develop over time – and are not noticed for many years after exposure – e.g. when the volume of the television has to be raised, conversations are difficult to follow and the sufferer is accused of not paying attention!

Unfortunately both conditions are permanent and irreversible - but you may well be entitled to compensation.

Date of knowledge

Employers have known since 1963 at the latest that excessive noise exposure can cause hearing loss, and so any exposure after that date may give rise to a claim. In addition, the Court of Appeal has recently ruled that lower noise thresholds can make the workplace unsafe and thus give rise to a claim.

No win no fee – 100% damages

Most claims can be funded at no cost to you by a “no win no fee” agreement, and you will keep 100% of the damages recovered.
