Having started his legal career in 1975 with solicitors specialising in claimant personal injury claims, Paul went on to gain a First Class Honours degree in law and was admitted as a solicitor in 1983.

He joined national personal injury specialists Russell Jones & Walker in 1986, spending 10 years as the partner in charge of their Leeds office, before transferring to the Bar in 1996.

Throughout his legal career spanning more than 30 years, Paul has practised as a solicitor and a barrister in most areas of civil litigation, including medical and other forms of professional negligence, and has particular expertise in personal injury claims.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and is unashamedly passionate about his work.

Acknowledging that he should get out more, he also enjoys walking and cycling.
